Resources
As parents we all have times when we just do not know what to do, or why, or how and certainly we have stress and worry!
Your child could be going through changes, experienced a trauma or simply doing things we just do not understand.
As we all know there is no hand book to tell you how we do this job, and we do not always get it right no matter how hard we try. All a big learning curve and I don't know about you but I am certainly open to ideas and suggestions.
So I thought I would put together a list of useful resources, tips and information.
I will add to this as and when I find new bits and pieces.
I hope it helps x
Book Recommendation - Age 10 onwards
On the Instagram account I have been following for sometime an account called @dralexgeorge. Many of you may be aware of him already, he is doing so much to improve the situation in Mental Health.
More recently he has written a book called 'A Better Day' and although written with around 10 years and up there are many many adults including myself who have found this book to be very helpful.
The reviews really do speak for themselves.
The aim being is to give younger people the tools to help them cope and to realise they are not alone and it is not just them who feel or have these things happen.
I have bought and given a copy to our 10 year old son, he has been reading it on and off for a few weeks so soon I will have a sit down and see what he feels about it all.
Before giving it to our son I had a blast through it and my first and prominent thought was 'I wish I had this available to me when I was 10 years old'.
It is currently on sale at Amazon for £5 - if you can grab a copy.
If you get a copy please get in touch and let me know your thoughts.
